Help Portrait – Dec 10, 2011?

Posted : September 26th, 2011 by

HELP-PORTRAIT IS A GLOBAL MOVEMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHERS USING THEIR TIME, GEAR AND EXPERTISE TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE IN NEED.

The idea is to:

  1. Find someone in need
  2. Take their portrait
  3. Print their portrait
  4. Deliver them

Very simple concept by Jeremy Cowart in Nashville, TN which has grown into a huge, international movement (non-prof).

There has been some local talk & interest in putting some legs to the idea of having a Help-Portrait event here in Kelowna this winter. Consider this the spot where some of the discussions can happen & information can be shared about this (possible) event to happen here this winter. If there is enough interest, perhaps we can collaborate to bring some smiles & dignity to the less fortunate this winter.

Here’s a quick overview video of what it’s about with over 10,500 photographers involved…

Leave a comment if you’re in or interested – we can send out emails to help gather the people…
