Sean E Avery brings recycling to a whole new level. Not to be confused with the “other” Sean Avery (hockey player on the NY Rangers), this Western Australian artist is also a writer & illustrator of children’s picture books who creates sculptures out of broken CDs.
“I blend many different man made materials together to make them appear strangely organic, with a distinct sense of movement. I like to think of my work as “sustainable art”.”
These sculptures were too fascinating not to share. To think of the amount of time and creativity it took to make these is mind-stomping which probably explains why Ripley’s Believe it or Not recently purchased some sculptures for display in their Hollywood museum. Amazing.
He graciously shot over a few of these images to place into our site and for that, we tip our hat to you Mr. Avery. Please, check out his website & the other creations that come from his hands. Inspiring.
